Hey guys, let's guess when the first DVD will be released! Use "Anonymous" as your name so that you won't be tempted to take credit for a successful guess.

Remember that the date has to fall on a Tuesday.

I'm going for August 2nd.

Wow, i get to have the first complaint on the forums! Why is Hare+Guu being put on 7 discs? Is 6 discs really too hard? Bandai, Funimation, and Media Blasters have no trouble fitting higher episode per disc counts. Anyway, i'm done complaining, cause I'm gonna buy it anyway. Thanks for releasing it here in the U.S. :)

^points up to "complaint"

The Japanese version was released on 7 DVDs.

AN Entertainment wins!

Honestly, Deluxe BETTER NOT be released like how it was in Japan. 2 Illusions per disc. About 15 mins each. Same goes for Final.

^points up

I'm speculating here but where 4+ thirty minute episodes and bonus features may compromise the image quality and playback of a DVD, I doubt putting more than 2 fifteen minute episodes on a disc would.

In Japanese DVD releases it is fairly common to find only 2 episodes per disk (or occassionally -especially for OVA series- just ONE episode per disk!) Add to that a common price tag that would run about $50 US dollars, and you would have to say that we have it pretty lucky here in the US.

good lord, stop comparing the US with japan. Look to AN forums for that discussion. I side with 7 being too high. Coupled with this extremely late release.... my fansubs are looking pretty nice

4 episodes per disc if fine by me :D Its better then 3 episodes :D I can't wait for this to be released!!!!!!!!!

My ongoing plee to AN Entertainment: Please, pleeeeease make accurate subtitle translations with explanatory footnotes in parts of Hare+Guu which would otherwise make no sense to someone that grew up outside of Japan.

That's all. Thank you :D

Please make a box option available with the first volume.

They aren't there for the purpose of money making; they're there to make us fans (who pay your wages, by the way) happy.

Thanks.

That would be kinda nice I guess, to have that box option. I just can't wait for this to be released. I am really interested in seeing outtakes and any other behind the scenes stuff.

anon - It's not an "extremely late" release, it's about a year after accquiring the license. Man, anime fans seem so spoiled nowadays. You know, we used to have to wait 2-3 years after a company accquired a series for it to be released over here (that's still the case w/ some ADV titles).

I also think you guys are complaining over spilt milk over the 7 disc issue. They haven't even told you how how much the dvds are going to cost yet & you guys are already whining about it.
April 28, 2005 | Unregistered Commenterguu
Hooray, I've waited 4 years for this, now I can finally obtain a (liscensed) copy of this series!
