Subtitle editing and translation notes for the Guu Deluxe episode 4 (illusions 7 & 8) is done. For a bit of trivia, this is the first episode in the anime that refers to itself as "HareGuu."

With the exception of some small references that we're still working out (trying to figure out), the subtitle editing for Guu Deluxe episode 2 is done! There will be plenty of meaty translation notes for this episode because it's a wild one with plenty of anime references and weird gags.

If you happen to be trekking out to Orlando this weekend for the annual smorgasborg of geekery that is Megacon... Well, so are we!

The official AN Entertainment/Haré+Guu panel is on Saturday from 11:40pm – 12:30pm.

The English recording of Haré+Guu Deluxe is going very well! My favorite character, Dama, came out great!

We have sent out one scene from Deluxe that we've just recorded. This will be shown at Megacon, so I hope everybody visits the Haré+Guu panel!

I'd like to take some time to thank everyone who supports the English dub. This show has definitely been a challenge for us... Comedy is always so hard to translate, and this show in particular is so CRAZY! We've received so many nice and positive reviews, and that keeps us going! We'll continue to give our best effort to deliver you the greatest English version!

Haré+Guu Deluxe English voice recording has started this week! All the actors are excited to get back in the rather bizarre world of Haré+Guu. So far we’ve recorded some of the lines for Haré, Guu, Weda, Bell, Chet, Robert, and Tom (do you remember him?). We’ve been laughing so hard with every line we record. It makes it hard to get the work done. But we better keep making progress, or it will never be released!! I’m looking forward to the recording sessions of one brand new wacko character (yes, there is another one!), and of course, Dama!!

Transcription of the literal Japanese translated dialogue script for Haré+Guu Deluxe episode 1 into natural, conversational English subtitles finished up this week. No translation notes necessary for the first episode, unless someone else on the staff notices something deserving of an explanation which I overlooked. Episode 2 is a fun one, and there ought to be plenty of little details worth pointing out in translation notes. Let's just hope that the Japanese licensor will allow us to be specific. It's so difficult to compose translation notes when we're not allowed to use proper names.

The good folks over at the FUNimation Channel will be broadcasting the TV series 5 days a week starting on 1/29 @ 10:30PM (EST).

So catch Guu on the tube! (Before she eats it.) Check with your local cable provider and if you don't have the FUNimation Channel, be sure to make a polite fuss. ;)

Congrats to Guu on claiming Character of the Year from Anime News Network! "In an environment overwhelmed with stereotypical characters, she is one of the most fun, original, and distinctive." We heartily agree! (Guu: Of course you do, hehehe...)

And where would Guu be without her "deliciously, dry wit"? Honorable Mention for Best Individual Dub Performance – Female goes to Jennifer Sekiguchi!

Also, it appears Haré is in need of some heavy medication... (Haré: I'm not the crazy one here..!)
